Couch Potato

Well this week has been a challenging one.  I was finally able to get caught up at work and school started back this week.  I am sorry for not posting any videos, but I am going to try and get some this weekend.  We have been training Tuvuk at night after work, but getting video in these conditions can be a challenge.  I plan on taking Tuvuk out tomorrow during the day and hopefully get some video to post to the blog.  I did catch some good couch time this week with my two boys.  The old man in the video for the people who may not know is Remington.  He has been my hunting buddy for 11 years now and deserves every minute of couch time that he wants.  Hope you enjoy the video.

  1. I watched your last video ("Future Drills") and read your informative blog on what each drill is called and the reason for them. Brings back alot of memories of you and Remington along with some of the other dogs you have trained. Time we had at Big Lake, Mallard Lake, Lake Monticello, the Bar Pits, along with a few others. We always called our time together as "Building Memories" and was that ever true. I wish now that we had kept a log, or Blog, I guess its called now of all the things we did. So many great times and some that were not so great! Remember the camping trip to Poinsett Lake, or our trip with Tony to Lake Lunker Texas. Even the not so great ones were still fun and they made the good ones even better.
Anyway, back to the video. You can tell Tuvuk is a product of excellent breeding, he is so smart, catches on to new things quickly, and responds well to commands. His "puppy" attention span gets the best of him now and then, but still doing extremely well. He just might fill those big shoes Remington has set for him. It was nice to see Rem., and you are right, he deserves the couch time.
Glad all are back in Nome safe.
    Love to all,
    Dad

  2. Yeah since doing this blog I have wondered what it would be like to have all those memories right at my fingertips. This started out as just a journal of Tuvuk's training to have the memories, but it is now almost like we are starting a new era. Remington has been with me so long that I almost forgot what is was like having a pup with the desire to do anything I want him to do. Like I said before I don't know if he will ever fill Remington's shoes, but it is nice to see the drive he has for retrieving. As for the memories they will never be forgotten, but now when we get old and senile we can use technology. LOL
